That person, who hasn't come forward, purchased a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket for Friday's game and hit all the numbers.
The ticket, purchased at the Wheels Convenience Store at 2047 Post Road in Fairfield had the winning numbers 1 - 6 - 13 - 18 - 49, Mega Ball 8 and Megaplier 2.
Of the 7,027 winning tickets sold in Connecticut for that date, the Fairfield County ticket is the only one that matched all five white ball numbers, the Lottery office said.
Luckily, the player paid an extra buck to add the Megaplier, so the $1 million winnings were doubled to $2 million, Lottery officials said.
Lottery officials said all draw game tickets expire 180 calendar days from the draw date. Players are encouraged to check their tickets carefully online at CTLOTTERY.ORG, or at any lottery retailer location.
